At Over My Head Boutique, our Certified Mastectomy Fitters provide private, one-on-one consultations to help you find post-mastectomy bras and breast prostheses that fit well, feel comfortable, and support both your physical recovery and your sense of self. Your comfort and confidence are our top priorities, and we will take the time you need to get there.

Bra and breast form fittings are available by appointment only. This ensures that every client receives the unhurried, private attention this experience deserves.

Post-Mastectomy & Post-Surgical Bras

Pocketed Bras

Pocketed bras are designed with soft interior pockets that securely hold a breast form or prosthesis in place. They look and function like everyday bras while providing the structure and support that post-mastectomy life requires. Many styles work equally well with or without a prosthesis.

Bras for Lumpectomy & Reconstruction

We carry styles tailored for patients who have had lumpectomies, undergone reconstruction, or chosen to go flat after mastectomy. Each option is chosen with comfort, support, and everyday wearability in mind. You deserve a bra that fits your life as it is now.

Front-Close & Post-Surgical Styles

Breast Prostheses

A breast prosthesis, or breast form, is a non-surgical option for restoring symmetry and balance after mastectomy or lumpectomy. We offer a wide variety of prostheses designed to mimic the look, feel, and weight of natural breast tissue, helping you move through the world with ease and confidence.

Once your physician has cleared you for a prosthesis fitting, typically around six weeks after surgery, we will work with you to find the right option. Our fitters are trained to evaluate your body, your lifestyle, and your preferences to recommend a form that feels natural and works for you.

Standard Breast Forms

We carry a range of standard breast forms in different shapes, sizes, and materials to suit a variety of body types, surgical outcomes, and personal preferences. Whether you have had a full mastectomy or a partial mastectomy/lumpectomy, we can help you find a form that restores your sense of symmetry and balance.

American Breast Care Custom Prosthesis

What to Expect

Your fitting appointment is a private, unhurried experience. Here is how it works:

Schedule Your Appointment: Contact us to book a private fitting. If you are coming in for a breast prosthesis fitting, your physician will need to have cleared you before your visit.
Private Consultation: You will meet one-on-one with a Certified Mastectomy Fitter in a private setting. We will take time to understand your surgery, recovery, daily lifestyle, and goals before recommending anything.
Fitting & Selection: Your fitter will guide you through the options most appropriate for your body and needs. We will try on bras and breast forms together until we find what feels right, with no pressure and no rush.
Care & Wear Guidance: Before you leave, we will walk you through how to care for your prosthesis and bras to keep them in the best possible condition and get the most from your investment.
Ongoing Support: Your needs may change over time as your body and your recovery evolve. We are here for follow-up fittings, replacement prostheses, and any questions that come up along the way.

Insurance & Coverage

Post-mastectomy bras, breast prostheses, and post-surgical garments may be covered by your insurance plan. Medicare and many private insurance plans cover these items following a mastectomy when a physician’s prescription is provided.
